Become a partner

Several companies provide us with interesting opportunities to work on current tasks from operational practice as topics for practical semesters, semester projects and final theses. This brings students into direct contact with the industry and the specialist areas of their particular interests at an early stage.

Wide range of cooperation opportunities

  • Topics for semester and research projects
  • Topics for final theses (Bachelor's/Master's thesis)
  • Completing an internship semester

Our laboratories are equipped with industrial machinery and equipment from world market leaders. This provides students with the best conditions for learning about textile production along the entire textile process chain under practical conditions.

The contribution of companies active in the production of textiles, in the fashion sector and in the textile trade is also an important support for the faculty. Textile materials from the most diverse areas of application serve as illustrative material, as materials for textile creations in design degree programmes and as practical examples in textile material testing.

Our association partners

The textile and clothing industry is Germany's second largest consumer goods industry and the global market leader for technical textiles. As a business and employers' association, SĂĽdwesttextil represents the interests of the industry in Baden-WĂĽrttemberg in Textile Valley and supports the faculty in teaching and research. In 2023, the collaboration was further developed with the changeover to a new faculty name and the opening of the TEXOVERSUM building donated by SĂĽdwesttextil as a beacon for the industry.

The German Institute of Textile and Fibre Research (DITF) in Denkendorf is the largest textile research centre in Europe. It conducts application-orientated research across the entire textile production chain. Training and further education are also fundamental tasks of the DITF. There is cooperation with the Faculty of Textiles in the area of teaching and with the Centre for Interactive Materials (IMAT). Research-related term papers and theses are also offered.

As a federal trade association, the BTE has represented the interests of the German textile retail trade for almost 60 years vis-Ă -vis political decision-makers, suppliers, trade fairs, fashion centres, consumer associations and other interest groups and is involved in a variety of ways in the training and further education of the textile retail trade.

For more than 160 years, the VDI - Association of German Engineers - has been providing important impetus for new technologies and technical solutions, thus ensuring a better quality of life, a better environment and greater prosperity. With around 145.000 members, the VDI is the largest technical and scientific association in Germany. We regularly have experts on campus to give talks on current topics.
