Bei der Kooperation aus Informatik (Maximilian Gysau, BA) und Textildesign (Magdalena Popp, MA) entstand ein Programm, welches Fragmente historischer Bindungen selbstorganisiert neu komponiert.

Es stellt eine potentiell industriell nutzbare Erweiterung für die Bindungserzeugung textiler Gewebe dar. Für die Umsetzung dienten digitalisierte Handaufzeichnungen von Gewebebindungen aus dem hochschuleigenen Textilarchiv als Bildvorlagen. Die Serie farblich abgestimmter Jacquardgewebe steht exemplarisch für diese programmgesteuerte Gestaltung. Das Projekt wurde beim Wettbewerb ein&zwanzig vom Rat für Formgebung als „Gewinner“ ausgezeichnet.

In collaboration between informatics (Maximilian Gysau, BA) and textile design (Magdalena Popp, MA) an application to compose fragments of historic weaves anew in a self-organized fashion was developed. It offers the potential to be applied as an industrial add-on tool for generating textile weaves. Historical manual notes from the universities' archive of textiles were used as patterns for the implementation. The resulting series of six color-coordinated jacquard woven fabrics demonstrate this way of program controlled design. This project is a „Winner“ in the ein&zwanzig competition of the German Design Council.
