There are many reasons for choosing TEXOVERSUM School of Textiles as an exchange student.  Over the course of the years we layed the foundation of a new era for international young professionals in the textile industry.

We focus on educational development and research in the areas of design, technology and business. Knowledge must face the challenges of the 21st century and our substantial self-conception deals with globalization, fashion and lifestyle, mobility solutions, sustainability, digitalisation and healthiness. We support a cosmopolitan societey and support each individual and its self-fullfillment. Interdisciplinary knowledge transfer is our strength.

Nomination & Application

All nominations for student exchanges must come from the responsible person in the International Office of your home institution. Students wishing to participate in an exchange with the School of Textiles must  contact their International Office first.

The partnership between Reutlingen University / School of Textiles and your home university must include a valid exchange agreement. Your university must nominate you for the exchange programme in the School of Textiles.

Please respect the following deadlines: 

Nomination Deadline Design Students:

15th of April 2026. Students will be asked to send their Portfolio before the final nomination. The Portfolio is the base for acceptance and admission.

We only have limited space and a few numbers of places (2 in total for each Study Program) and the competition is very tough. 

Nomination Deadline for Fashion Business Students

1st May 2026

Application (all incoming exchange students)

15th of May 2026

When the nominations have been processed by the School of Textiles, the students get an E-mail with login credentials and can start the application process.

Fact Sheet TEXOVERSUM School of Textiles

Language of instruction

The language of instruction is English (Level B2-C1). A confirmation of this level is required through your host insitituion if English is not your native language.

You can learn German as a foreign language and register for one of the offered German courses by our Reutlingen International Office. They offer courses for Beginners and advanced level. The workload is graded with ECTS.

International students are welcome to join our German courses and workshops. We also offer a lot of other language courses, like Spanish, French or Chinese.

Student Accommodation and Costs

For all those who would like to live close to campus without having to forego cooking evenings and party together, student halls of residence are a cost-effective alternative to expensive private flats. Here you can find furnished and partly barrier-free single flats and shared rooms in various designs.

Depending on your personal needs, accommodation costs vary between 300 to 500 Euros per month. We do not charge tution fees, but all exchange students, including Erasmus Students, have to pay an enrolment fee 119,30 per Semester.

The halls of residence are run by external providers and the places are highly sought after. So find out more and apply quickly!
